- Description
OCT defined Macrophages are signal-rich, distinct, or confluent punctate regions that are more intense than background speckle noise (arrowhead, a band with high reflectivity). It may often be seen at the boundary between the bottom of the cap and the top of a necrotic core. Macrophages showed high attenuation of OCT signal, and can shadow underlying tissue, looks like a necrotic core.
