Plaque rupture

Multiple ruptured plaque has an extensive lipid core and residual fibrous cap fragment with the cavity. Discontinuity of the fibrous cap is clearly seen on this image indicative of a ruptured plaque (arrow). The corresponding case is available in IVUS.
