- Description
Slices of circumferential lines are produced when low energy beams pass through a strong echo reflector such as stent struts as in this case, or calcified lesions. The low energy echoes reflect back to the transducer producing these side low artifacts which may appear as a dissection flap (arrowhead). To rule out the presence of dissection, a reduction in the gain setting can be made which will remove side lobe artifacts.
