Neoatherosclerosis

OCT by PIC Peshawar

  1. Description

Neoatherosclerosis is defined as the accumulation of lipid-laden macrophage foam cells within the neointima of stented arteries. Necrotic core formation, calcification, neovascularization or thrombotic complication can be combined. Calcification(asterisk) was combined within the neointima, but stent struts can not be indentified due to high backscatter on the surface and high signal attenuation. The corresponding case is available in IVUS.
