NURD

NURD appears as a blurring or smearing in the lateral (or rotational) direction in OCT images When the angular velocity of the mono-fiber optical catheter is not constant. It occurs due to mechanical rotational resistance in the catheter due to a tortuous vessel, a tight hemostatic valve, a kinked or bent catheter or possibly a crimped catheter sheath.
