NURD

IVUS by PIC Peshawar

  1. Description

NURD(nonuniform rotational distortion) is present between 1 to 3 o’clock and 6 to 9 o’clock with distortion of the underlying plaque. This artifact is seen with mechanical systems when friction or bending (kinking) of the IVUS catheter or drive cable interferes with the uniform rotation of the transducer. This is not seen in solid-state catheters which has no moving parts.
